Carl, Mike and I decided to take the morning and head out to sunglow pier in Daytona Beach Shores. We arrived just before sunrise to a VERY foggy and cool morning.
On my first cast I land a 12” whiting and on his first cast Carl lands a small shark. The action then slowed down for Carl, but I had a steady day. Mike on the other hand did not catch a single fish! He did however, loose a decent Sheepshead while reeling it in and had a large fish break him off.
The total tally for me was:
1 Black Drum – 17”
4 Sheepshead – up to 18”
4 whiting – up to 13”
Carl’s Totals:
1 Shark
3 Whiting
I have always found it odd that two people fishing from the same spot using the same bait and same techniques can have such different results. I caught 9 fish while Mike caught 0. Odd!
