Today I spent the day fishing from a private dock on the Inter-Costal Waterway. This is an area I frequent and have always had very good luck here!
I started the day throwing my cast net in shallow waters near a few public boat ramps looking for mud minnows and finger mullet. After only a few minutes of throwing the net I had a bucket full of both.
Upon arrival at the dock I dropped a mud minnow directly bellow the pier close to the pylon. This quickly resulted in the first Mangrove Snapper. An 11” fish that was more than fat enough to justify throwing him in the cooler.
This pattern repeated itself until I ran out of mud minnows. I landed about 10 keeper size snapper ranging in size from 11”-15”. I kept 5 fish and plan on having a nice dinner with my wife tonight!
