The Florida Winter Shrimp Run that the east coast of Florida has become extremely popular for is coming to an end. Reports are coming in of low numbers of shrimp and the shrimp that are being caught are small. This year’s season was not as productive as last years, and some are speculating that the unseasonably warm winter has something to do with that.
Now that the Winter Shrimp Run is ending it is time to prepare for the summer run.
In the summer, shrimpers do not use dip nets at night, they use cast nets in the channels during the day.
