The FWC has instituted new rules for the statewide Flounder Fishery. The new flounder rules are a result of the FWC finding the population to be overfished.
The new regualations are set to take effect on Mach 1, 2021.
New Flounder Rules and Regulations
- Minimum size limit will be increased from 12 inches to 14 incheds
- Flounder are measured from tip of mouth the tip of pinched tail
- The bag limit will now be 5 fish. This is a reduction from 10 per person.
- October 15 – November 30 will be a recreational closed season
- All FWC flounder state regulations will be extended into federal waters.
- New comercial rules have also been posted.
