Todays fishing trip was to some docks that I frequent around the Halifax River. Armed with live shrimp and fiddler crabs I planed on targeting Sheepshead and did so successfully!
The first cast of a fiddler crab ended up being the best. I landed an 18” Sheepshead! The fish put up a good fight, but when fighting my Ambassador 6500 with 30lb braid and a 20lb fluorocarbon leader it was no match!
I ended up landing 3 keeper sized Sheepshead and 2 undersize and 1 mangrove snapper. All on only 2 dozen fiddler crabs!
The shrimp only caught a few cats and an 18” whiting, my largest to date!
