Reports of full 5 gallon limits have been coming in from the summer cast net shrimp run. While these shrimp are not accessible from the shore, many are having luck trapping them from area bridges.
Here is how to catch shrimp in a trap:
- Acquire a shrimp trap (can be found at local bait shops)
- Place the shrimp trap in a high flow area near a sea wall. Bridges work great
- Relax. Fishing is a good way to pass the time
- Check the traps every 2 hours
That’s it. It is pretty easy, and if you are in a good spot, you can fill a 5 gallon bucket in a few hours!
